Registration Period 2017 Fall (for International Students)

In order for you manage your things efficiently, you will need to use our Internet connection, the settings of which can be found here.

If you want to connect to the Internet, you will need to receive your Neptun identifier and Neptun password from Quaestura Office.

REGISTRATION PERIOD for newly arriving ("new") international students
 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th September

Timings: 09:00-14:00, 15:00-17:30

REGISTRATION PERIOD for continuing ("old") international students on
29th, 30th, 31st of August ONLY!

Timings: 09:00-14:00, 15:00-17:30

Information on the registration period of new students:

During the registration period, we kindly ask you to please wait for your turn in front of Room 308 and inside the classrooms designated for waiting. You will need to write your name on a waiting list, which will be placed in front of Room 308 (Múzuem krt. 6-8., Level 3).

In all cases, you will be called based on your “CALL CODE,” which you will receive as you write your name on the waiting list.

Considering that we are to receive more international students than in the previous years, please patiently wait for your turn.

We would like to request you to have the following documents ready as you enter the registration premises:

  • valid passport
  • residence permit (if any)
  • letter of acceptance (received from the institution)
  • proof of payment of your tuition fee and application fee*
  • 2 passport-size photos with your name written on the back side (in capital letters)
  • original copies of all your credentials as listed below*
  1. high school certificate in case you are a BA student
  2. BA degree in case you are an MA student
  3. language certificate – IELTS, TOEFL or any other internationally recognized certificate of language competence*
  • health insurance policy (if you already have one)
* Ensure that you have a photocopy of your credentials and the proof of payment of your fees.

Please note that we do not keep any of the original documents. Do not leave any original copies in our office.

You will receive the following documents during your visit:
  • adult learning agreement (to be signed in two copies)
  • certificate of ACTIVE student status
  • welcome package (including instructions on how to use the Neptun system)
  • a study unit list of courses you must take during your studies
  • student ID card and health insurance (to be managed at the Quaestura Office only)
  • immigration issues (documents to be presented at the Immigration Office)
In order to start processing your Student ID card, you will need to visit Kormányablak (Government Customer Service). Here is a list of the ones near the university:

1082 Budapest Baross utca 59.

1062 Budapest Andrássy út 55.

1051 Budapest Erzsébet tér 3.

Please check the opening hours of the Government Customer Service before you go there. Inform the receptionist that you are applying for a Student ID card ("diákigazolvány") in Hungarian.

Proceed to Quaestura Office only after you have made all the necessary arrangements at the Government Customer Service.


You will be able to arrange the following issues at Quaestura Office:
  • Student ID (please note that the University is not in charge of the issue or re-activation of student IDs)
  • Neptun password (necessary for your class registration and all other administrative issues throughout your studies)
  • Health insurance (comprehensive health insurance - Generali - ELTE Studium, 1 September 2017 - 31 August 2018, price: HUF 70.000)

Spring semester: from 12 February 2018 until 18 May 2018

Thursday: 09:00 - 16:00
Friday: 08:00 - 15:00
