Obtain the entry visa and Residence Permit

(Information for non-EEA nationals only)

In a nutshell, to pursue a degree at ELTE University as a non-EEA (European Economic Area) citizen, the student needs to obtain two documents:
  1. a D-type entry visa (also known as the Residence Permit Visa)
  2. a Residence Permit.
The admitted student initiates the visa procedure by applying for a "Residence Permit for the Purpose of Studies" at the Hungarian authorities abroad, and if granted, is issued the entry visa. After his or her arrival in Hungary, the student must register at the Office of Immigration and Nationality and pick up the Residence Permit.

Please make sure to meet all requirements when applying for the entry visa and Residence Permit.
